How will you know if your child is ready? The first step on how to start potty training is to look for the signs that your child is ready. These will often include:
- You child will stay dry for longer periods of time. Sometimes you will notice in the morning they will wake up with a dry diaper. This can be a good indication that your child's bladder is able to hold more urine.
- Your child gets uncomfortable wearing dirty diapers. When your kid starts moaning about wearing wet diapers and wants to be changed you can bet that they will be open to learning how to avoid them altogether.
- You can tell visually that your child is ready to go pee by their facial expressions or by thier body language. You know your child, and you can usually tell quite easily when they need to go to the bathroom.
- Your child is able to follow some basic instructions. You need to get very specific on the process with your kid. They need to know that they have to take down thier pants, sit on the potty, wash their hands etc. If you can get them to understand the process, it becomes so much easier.
